2 Jurisdiction and Duties
- The Supreme Court only has original jurisdiction in two types of cases - One type of a case involve disputes between two or more states - The second type of a case is a case that involves diplomats from foreign countries.

3 Powers and Limits Article III of the Constitution creates the judicial branch. Constitution puts limits on power of the federal court system. The power of judicial review is one of the most important powers of the supreme court. The judicial branch is an important check on the legislative and executive branches of government.

4 Limits on the supreme court
The system of checks and balances puts limits on the power of the federal courts like the supreme court. The Court will not rule on a law or an action that has not been challenged. A person cannot ask the judge to see if a law is constitutional.

5 Words You Should Know Nulify- to cancel legally
Constitutional- in accordance with the constitution Judicial review- the power of the Supreme Court to say whether any federal, state, or local law or government action goes against the Constitution
