Scalar quantities Are quantities that have magnitude but no direction
Such as: speed, density, area

Vector quantities Are quantities that have both magnitude and direction Such as velocity, forces, acceleration To determine the resultant of a vector quantity use the parallelogram law

Parallelogram law Step 1. draw the vectors to scale at the specific angle Step 2. draw lines parallel to the forces Step 3. complete using the arrows the resultant vector Step 4. determine the value of the resultant vector using your ruler and scale outlined.
