2 Listen and complete the timeline handout as each group presents.
Work with a partner or small group of 3 (there are 9 groups total… make it work) to read and answer questions for your part of the Origins of WWII timeline hand out. Keep your answers clear and to the point but make sure we know what happened – you’re now the expert! Share with the entire class what you’ve found when it is your turn so that we learn the whole story. Each person in the group is responsible for answering at least one question. Listen and complete the timeline handout as each group presents.

5 Could World war II have been prevented?
Write a clear thesis statement and at least one paragraph to support your thesis. Make sure your supporting paragraph includes: A clear topic sentence that connects to your thesis statement. Two actions or reactions from your timeline handout/notes that support your thesis statement. A few sentences for each action or reaction that explain how each supports your view. Hint: If your thesis is that World War II could have been prevented, you might explain how a different reaction would have prevented World War II.

6 How do you make a good thesis statement?
Simple equations for a thesis might look something like this: Take a specific topic + (then add) Attitude/Angle/Argument = Thesis Statement Or to put it another way… What you plan to argue + How you plan to argue it = Thesis
