Proclamation of 1763 Said that Americans could not move past the Appalachian mountains Made Americans Angry Was created to give the Native Americans all land west of the Appalachians

British Troops and Taxes
King George III sent 10,000 troops to the colonies to enforce the Proclamation of 1763 To save money they passed the Quartering Act Colonists were forced to house and feed British soldiers Britain needed more money to pay off war debt, so it raised taxes on colonies Sugar Act – taxed “sweet” goods being imported to the colonies Stamp Act – taxed all important documents – had to buy a stamp (ex. Diplomas, contracts, wills)

Was it fair that Great Britain expected to colonies to pay for the debt G.B. incurred during the French & Indian War? If so, Why If not, how could have Great Britain paid off their debt instead?
