4 Heresy was the crime of not following the same religion as the monarch of your country. This crime had been about long before the Tudors but it was during this time that it became most common in our country. Religion was of great importance to everyone during the time of the Tudors. To begin with Catholicism was the main religion of the country. However, the new religion of Protestantism was on the rise. Both religions were types of Christianity.
