The purpose of this activity is to consider the increasing use of telephone and online surveys. Obviously, most good practice carries directly over from face-to-face interview surveys.

Telephone
 only captures those with a phone, can be costly + quick, interviewee can be located anywhere
Online  not certain who is responding, limited to those with access, can have low response rate, need to be clear as no chance for qualification/clarification
+ worldwide access, cheap, fast response
