Revolutions Unit 3 AOS 1 Date: 15/05/2019 Readings and Goal Setting Learning intention: SWBAT explain best-practice annotation and create a mind-map on last week’s readings SWBAT begin to formulate a SMART goal for their study of history Success Criteria Spend 10 minutes writing Mr. Cain a letter with details about yourself and your expectations, thoughts and concerns for next year Spend 5 minutes brainstorming the concept of revolution Take at least 5 dot point notes on the “talent is overrated” slides

2 Revolutions Unit 3 AOS 1 Date: 15/05/2019 Success Criteria Spend 10 minutes improving your annotations on the reading and creating a mind map with at least 6 components Take at least 6 dot point notes on study score goal setting. Begin to formulate a SMART goal for this subject

3 S M A R T SMART goals Specific Measurable Ambitious Realistic
Revolutions Unit 3 AOS 1 Date: 15/05/2019 SMART goals S Specific Well defined, clear to someone who isn’t familiar with the subject M Measurable Easy to know if the goal is do-able, and how far away you are from achieving it A Ambitious The goal stretches you towards a challenging achievement R Realistic The goal is achievable given your starting point and the time available T Time-bound There is a time limit on when the goal will be achieved

Revolutions Unit 3 AOS 1 Date: 15/05/2019 Thinking about your ATAR score To get above 90 3 Scores in the low 40s 2 Scores in the mid 30s 3 Scores in the high 30s 2 Scores in the low 30s To get above 80 3 Scores in the mid 30s 2 Scores in the low 30s To get above 70 5 Scores in the low 30s To get above 60 2 Scores in the low 30s 3 Scores in the mid 20s To get above 50 Obviously this will vary depending on what subjects you choose, how they are scaled and whether you do a 6th subject. This will change a little bit from year to year. Other combinations can get you scores in each band, but this is a good guide

Yes, while ambitious, it is realistic to achieve this average with hard work Yes, the goal will be completed by the end of the year SMART-check My SMART goal By the November 2015, 90% of students will complete Revolutions with an average study score of 32 or higher
