League of Nations – Cox and the Democrats wanted us to join the League of Nations. Harding was in the middle on the issue. He did not take a strong stand which kept both sides happy.
Return to Normalcy - Harding wanted to reassure voters and ran with a “Return to Normalcy” slogan and promised a return to the good old days.

Calvin Coolidge – Vice Pres. that took over when Harding died. He was quiet and reserved. Not like Harding.

Democrats were divided over prohibition. Some from the rural areas supported prohibition while northern city dwellers apposed prohibition.
