2 Class opener (Day 1) Come in quietly
Glue down the rubric on page 1 in your INB Update your TOC with the following information: Take out your INB- turn to page 6/58 Pg1- INB Rubric Pg 2- Rotation vs. Revolution Pg 3- Intro to Earth in Space Pg 4- On the Move Pg 5- Phases of the Moon Pg 6- SOLE- Eclipse Review Pg 7- Eclipses Pg 8- Reflection: Tides Pg 9- Spring and Neap Tides Class opener (Day 1)

3 Earth in Space Your title page should be set up like the one to the right  In the top left square: Label box: Earth in Space Split square into 4 boxes Label the boxes with one of the descriptions: Seasons, Phases of the Moon, Eclipses, Tides Draw and color a picture that represents seasons, phases of the moon, eclipses, and tides Phases of the Moon Seasons Eclipses Tides Class opener (day 2-3)

4 Write the following EQ at the top of the page: What are the effects of the sun, Earth, and moon relationship?

5 Write the following title at the top of the page: Spring and Neap Tides

6 Study Jams: Tides Video

7 On the top line, write down the definition for TIDES (next slide)

8 Tides: the cycle of water rising and falling caused by gravity; high tides take place every 12.5 hours

9 SPRING TIDES: When the moon, sun, and Earth line up in a straight line; their relationship produces a very high tide

10 NEAP TIDES: When the moon and sun are at right angles, they produce a very low tide
