1. Which salt will make the egg float when I add six tablespoons of coarse kosher salt and iodized salt?

2. Hypothesis
When I add the six tablespoons of kosher salt I think the egg will sink. When I add the six tablespoons of iodized salt I think the egg with float.

3. Procedures gather all my materials pour my water into the cups
add six tablespoons of salt into the water
add my egg to the water
see what happens and document it
repeat these steps for the other cup

4. materials/ equipment/ safety
two cups
two eggs
twelve tablespoons of salt
two cups of water

5. Variables Independent-
I will change the types of salt I use (when I have to do the next cup.)
Dependent-
If the egg will float or not.
Constants-
The cups, amount of salt, amount of water and me the tester.

6. Step one
I poured cold water into the cup until it was half way full. Then, I added six tablespoons of Kosher salt into the cup.

7. Step two
I got my second cup and poured cold water into it until it was halfway full. Then I put six tablespoons into it.

8. Step three
I stirred the salt and put my egg into the cup. Then I added the egg to the other cup.

9. Conclusion
The question was will the egg float when I add six tablespoons of coarse kosher salt and Iodized salt? I added six tablespoons of kosher salt to the half filled cup. Then, I added six tablespoons of Iodized salt to the second half filled cup. both of the eggs floated when they were added. My hypothesis was wrong they both floated and I thought the one with kosher salt would sink. I learned that if you add six tablespoons of salt to a half filled glass then add an egg the egg will float no matter the type of salt. A problem I had was I didn't get big enough cups, when I added the egg I couldn't tell if it was floating or not, so I used a bigger glass and the experiment worked well.
