3. Problem Statement
People enjoy collecting items such as music, movies, and books
There is a need to organize and inventory what is wanted and what is already owned
Many have a personal system set up for this purpose be it a list or a spreadsheet
These are often time consuming and limited in use

4. Requirements (Part 1)
The user shall be able to create a collection to which items and attributes can be added, edited, or removed
Collections shall be importable, exportable, and printable
The user shall be able to search and/or sort a collection
The user shall be able to create a collection from scratch or from a template

5. Requirements (Part 2)
Templates shall be provided for common collection types such as:
Music
Movies
Books
Stamps
Coins
Paper Money

6. Requirements (Part 3) The software shall be cross platform compatible
Full end-user documentation shall be provided in both digital and print formats
The software shall provide a simple and intuitive GUI
The software shall use relational databases to manage data

9. Edit Panel
When the user selects a row, all information will be transferred to the edit panel
All editing will take place in side panel
Provides the user an easy way to edit multiple attributes simultaneously
Ability to set multiple attributes as visible/invisible
Add button will give the user an easy way to enter similar items quickly

10. Search Functionality
The process of searching will take place entirely within the main screen
This is the basic layout of the search function from the main screen, more detail will provided later in the presentation

11. Right-Click
Previous design had no implementation for right click functionality
Our plan is to allow the user to right-click on the table and perform several actions:
Add Attribute
Hide Attribute
Remove Attribute
Add Item
Remove Item
If the user is adding an item or attribute via the right-click method, they will be greeted with the wizards assigned for those tasks as opposed to using the edit panel

12. New Collection Wizard
Shall allow the user to add a new collection using an easy graphical user interface
Shall have two ways to access this wizard
Through file menu
Through an icon on the toolbar
Shall be modular and give the user a flexible range of options while adding a new collection
Shall allow the user to import existing data in magnetic form

There will be six initial templates distributed with the Collection Inventory Software
These will provide the user with a starting point for some possible collections
The templates will be hard coded; however, they can be manipulated for the user’s collection preference
