1 What is gender?

2 Gender comprises a range of differences between men and women
gender refers to characteristics ( dainty, soft, passive, strong, aggressive, etc) that one associates with a particular sex (female or male).

3 Gender Identity is a person's own sense of identification as male or female. So, whether you see yourself as more feminine than masculine or more masculine than feminine

4 Are you more feminine or are you more masculine?
What if you have equal qualities of both genders? Does that mean that you are gay?

5 We all possess both masculine and feminine traits to some degree.
If your sex is male and you have feminine traits (compassionate, caring, etc) it does NOT mean that you are gay. Or if your sex is female and you are competitive and love to do “male” things (fishing, playing sports, etc) that does not mean that you are gay. There are some people who have almost equal amounts of both traits (feminine and masculine). This is a concept referred to as androgyny or as being androgynous.

Androgyny is a term derived from two Greek words. One meaning man and the other meaning woman. The term can refer to either of two related concepts about gender.

7 masculine, feminine or androgynous traits?
Do you display more masculine, feminine or androgynous traits? The Bem Androgyny Test is a way of judging how masculine or feminine you are. Psychologist Sandra Bem (1976) believed that, based on a person’s own self-description, the extent to which s/he possess masculine or feminine traits could be determined.
