2. Freshmen Monday Copy down the following terms and definitions:
Confess: admit to something; sometimes to God in the presence of a priest
Slander: Lies told that damage someone else's reputation
Leisure: Time available for relaxation and ease
Rouse: Cause to become awake or conscious
Slay: Kill intentionally and with premeditation

3. Sophomore Monday
Copy down the following terms and definitions:
Emerge: Move away from something and come into view
Illumination: Lighting or Light
Herd: When a group moves in a particular direction
Pry: To pull apart or move
Endure: Suffer patiently

4. Freshmen Block Period 1
Journal. Write 5-7 sentences and include/underline one vocabulary word.
Write about a time that you got out of something. Maybe it was an event, a promise, or a chore.

5. Sophomore Block Period 1
Journal. Write 7-9 sentences and include/underline one vocabulary word from Monday.
Write about a game or activity you liked to do in your childhood.
