5. Advantages: Passengers are separated from driveline and road noise.
Usually a stronger structure.

The chassis is built separately from the body and the two are brought together later on in the assembly line.
The body is isolated from the frame by rubber bushings.

9. Platform Chassis A subgroup of the separate body and frame.
A flat pan with a tunnel added for strength is fitted with a separate body.
Used by the Volkswagen Beetle

11. Unit Body or Unibody Generally used on smaller cars.
Body is the frame.
Usually lighter.
Some builders use tubular “subframes”.
Others use stamped steel “tubs”
