6. Plant Cells Plant cells contain chloroplasts which contain chlorophyll
They also have a cell wall and vacuole (see if you can find out what these things do – p.9) which animal cells don’t have

7. Roots Absorb minerals (e.g. nitrates) Absorb water Anchor the plant
ADAPTATIONS: Contain root hairs which increase surface area to absorb as much as possible

8. Stem
Provide support – hold the leaves up
Carries food and water

9. Photosynthesis What is the equation?
Therefore what factors would affect the rate of photosynthesis? (clue: think what is needed)
