If you choose to put your time into a job, a hobby, nights on the internet or hours talking on the phone, these time consuming activities do not provide you with an excuse which will help your grade. The choices you make in how you spend your time each day will decide how successful you are in living up to your potential.

Ways to get academic help:
Ask the teacher during class. If you have a question, other students probably have the same question.
Ask the teacher after class.
Ask another student after class. (Hint: Pick a smart one!)
Take advantage of free tutoring at our school.
Form a study group. Research shows that study groups are very effective. (Hint #2: Include someone in the group who understands the subject well.)

Talk to your Advisor.
Talk to your counselor. There are three things counselors can not keep confidential:
(1) If there is any kind of abuse involved,
(2) If there is reason to believe you might hurt yourself,
(3) If there is reason to believe you might hurt someone else.
Talk to an adult you trust.
Take a friend with you to talk to an adult you trust.
