Information Literacy Instruction Involves collaborating with teachers and students to help identify information needs, curricular content, and resources that will aid students in their overall education, Also deals with working with the learning community to teach and analyze a vast variety of information skills.

Reading Advocacy “reading proficiency is widely recognized as the number one predictor of student success” Eisenberg. Working together with classroom teachers, reading specialists, parents, and other educators, to provide easily available access to a rich collection of books and media that will encourage the students to read.

Information management 21st century librarian needs to be proficient in the effective use of information and information technologies: Goal should be to provide knowledge, vision, and leadership -21st century librarians should be experts at acquiring as well as evaluating information in many different formats, be it online, through article catalogs or databases, or through book resources, and it is their job to bring to the attention of teachers, students, and parents as much awareness of their findings as they can

Information Specialist Program administrator No longer can we just sit behind a desk and check out books to students, we now have to take on an active, engaged role and reach out to students. It’s our job to teach them about the ever changing applications of technology on our society. We have to work with teachers to aid their curriculums and assert ourselves as involved members of the school.
