1 TV/Film Writing Week 3 Spring Semester

2 Monday: No School

3 Tuesday Bell Ringer & Agenda
What is something you could sell that is related to your Dr. Seuss book? Bell Ringer Finish Duck in a Truck (if needed) Continue working on Dr. Seuss Don’t forget: You need a copy of your book by Friday! If you have it, show it to me. If not, last day to get a copy is Friday (you will have half the class time to read). Again, if you need help selecting a book, please see me YESTERDAY!!

4 Radio Drama: Today you will continue working on your Dr. Seuss book you want to turn into a radio drama. Read the story you pick. Assign who is reading which pages, or sentences. Add in sound effects using Post-Its. Add in commercial. It doesn’t have to be written yet, just need to know where it goes. Show Mrs. Webster. Begin writing script using examples from Make sure there is a significate amount of sound effects Make sure your commercial is related to your book and is at least 30 seconds long! Also, introduce your recording! “Be back after these messages!” or “Be back after this short commercial break” etc” We will record Thursday! PS: If you did not finish Duck in a Truck, you need to get it completed today! It goes into the gradebook today!

Please use your time wisely. They are due Monday! We will listen to them tomorrow and then you will have time to read your book for your final script. Make sure you practice BEFORE you record!

11 Book Reads: As you read/re-read your book:
Create a character chart for ALL the characters in the book. You will decide later who you will include in your script. In the character chart, make sure to include the following: Name, description, physical appearance, voice, age, personality traits, style of dress, occupation, home, family, friends, behaviour, likes and dislikes etc. You want to make sure you KNOW the characters; he or she is now your BEST friend! I will check these on Monday!
