3 Proportion: Elements of Design: Collage:
In art the size relationship between an object and the human body is significant. In experiencing the scale of an artwork we tend to compare its size to the size of our own bodies. Proportion refers to the relative size of parts of a whole (elements within an object). Elements of Design: Design elements are the basic units of a painting, drawing, design or other visual piece and include: Color. Shape. Texture. Space. Form. Unity/harmony. Balance. Collage: Collage (From the French: coller, to glue, French pronunciation: [kɔ.laːʒ]) is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.
