The Silk Road Ancient trade route between China and Europe.
Trade brought new foods and goods. The Silk Road ran from China to the Mediterranean Sea.

The Silk Road Series of routes covering more than 4,000 miles (6,400 km). The road passes through mountains and deserts. Ships in Antioch took goods to Rome, Greece, and Egypt.

The Silk Road Goods were passed from trader to trader. Few covered the entire route. Got its name from the silk made only in China. Buddhism was also shared along the route.

During the Han Dynasty, people once again studied the teachings of Confucius. One Han scholar wrote down the early history of China.

Rulers of the Han Dynasty required civil servants to study the teachings of Confucius. Arts and learning flourished under the Han Dynasty. The First Dictionary of the Chinese language was developed.

Until the Han Dynasty, the Chinese people had little knowledge of their own history. Sima Qian spent his life writing down the history of China. Previously it was just orally told and was in conflict with one another.

Han Technology Chinese worked on improving society because the Han Dynasty was stable. China became the most advanced civilization. Significant advances in farming tools.

People in China still call themselves “the children of Han.”
