5 Guided Reading Civil Rights Organizations
SCLC CORE SNCC Malcolm X & The Black Panthers You and a partner will conduct research on one of these four organizations. Use the index in your textbook to find as much information as possible. What were the goals of the organization that you studied? Complete a Events, People, Contributions, Achievements Chart for your assigned organization Do you think that the organization you studied made the Civil Rights Movement more effective? Why or why not? Details about each organization can be found between pages 586 and 605

6 Jigsaw Get into groups of four with one person representing each organization. Take turns sharing what you learned about the organization that you studied. Everyone should be able to identify each organization and complete an Events, People, Contributions, and Achievements Chart for each group

7 Newspaper Assignment Choose one of the four organizations and create a newspaper article about its Civil Rights efforts. Everyone needs to turn in their own newspaper article. 3 paragraphs Due for B-Day on Tuesday, March 19 Due For A- Day on Monday, April 1
