2 Monday Bell Ringer: Get out the rubric for the Multimedia Poster
On the back (the side that says Evaluation Checklist), read through each of the bullets and highlight what is requested. Example: Variety of Pictures: Does your collage illustrate a wide variety of examples and representations of your archetype? Does it represent how this archetype exists across cultures, time periods and genres?

3 Finish Poster: You have the rest of today to finish poster

4 Tuesday Bell Ringer: Find your poster and hang on the wall

5 As You Do The Gallery Walk:
Take notes on each of the hybrid archetypes. Take a grade sheet and grade the poster listed at the top. (make sure it isn’t YOUR poster!) When finished: Pick your favorite hybrid and explain it in a sentence. Place on a Post-It and put on board.

6 Theme Notes: Theme: the message, or lesson, that the author wants you to learn from the story Ask yourself: What did the characters learn? How did the characters grow or change? Why did the characters act this way? Common Topics for theme: Not actual themes! Courage Dreams Kindness Fears Being yourself Equality Hope Differences Friendship Hard work Honesty Love Family Jealousy Never give up Do the right thing Acceptance peace

8 Notes from Darious: Theme: Writers or film makers message to the audience Universal How does the main character change throughout the show? Don’t be to vague! It’s subjective! You see it; you own it! When you write, some themes will continually pop up! They are important to you! Don’t force a theme!

Exposition (Act One) Inciting Incident (Act One) Rising Action (Act Two) Turning Point (Act Two) Falling Action (Act Three) Resolution (Act Three) Protagonist Antagonist Supporting Characters Brief outline of each sub-plot (title “B”, “C”, “D”, etc) Central Theme of the story Archetypes of the characters

15 THURSDAY: Winner: Day After Tomorrow
