3 Definitions Interpolation: make predictions in scatter plots by estimating between data points. Extrapolation: made predictions in scatter plots by estimating beyond the range of the data. Outlier: points in a set of data that are significantly far from the majority of the other data.

4 Residual The vertical deviation of each data point from the line of best fit Residuals are positive for points above the line, and negative for points below the line.
