2 Coin Toss 3-1-3-b Only one coin toss. Winner has option of either:
Offense or Defense or End of field to be used. Loser has remaining option and first choice for next extra period (if needed).

3 Possession Series 3-1-3-e
Each team retains the ball during a possession series until it scores or fails to make a first down. The ball remains alive after a change of team possession until it is declared dead. However, Team A may not have a 1st and 10 if it again possesses the ball after a change of team possession.

4 A.R. 3-1-3 III RULING: Six points for Team A.
Team A’s field goal is blocked & Does not cross the neutral zone. K H Team A recovers and runs For a touchdown. RULING: Six points for Team A. G

5 A.R. 3-1-3 III RULING: Team A continues its
Team A’s field goal is blocked & does not cross the neutral zone. K H Team A recovers and is tackled beyond the line to gain. RULING: Team A continues its Possession series, 1st & 10.. G

6 A.R. 3-1-3 V RULING: Team A’s ball, next down.
On 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down, Team A’s field goal is blocked & does not cross the neutral zone. K H Team A recovers and is tackled short of the line to gain. RULING: Team A’s ball, next down. G

7 A.R. 3-1-3 IX B17 muffs RULING: Team A’s possession series
Team A’s field goal is untouched Beyond the neutral zone until B17 Muffs it at the five-yard line. Team A recovers at the three-yard line. K H B17 muffs RULING: Team A’s possession series continues; 1st down at the three-yard line. [There has not been a change of team possession.] G 3-1-3-e: Team A may not have a 1st & 10 if it again possesses the ball after a change of team possession.

Team B gains possession then loses possession to Team A and Team A scores. Team A recovers and scores. B intercepts and then fumbles. P RULING: The score counts. [3-1-3-e: The ball remains alive after a change of team possession until it is declared dead.] G

Team B gains possession then loses possession to Team A and Team A does not score. Team A recovers and is tackled at the five-yard line. B intercepts and then fumbles. P RULING: Team A’s possession series ends and Team B begins its possession series. [3-1-3-e: Team A may not have a 1st & 10 if it again possesses the ball after a change of team possession. G

10 Timeouts (3-1-3-h) Each team is allowed one time out for each extra period. Unused timeouts from regulation game or other extra periods do not carry over. Timeouts between extra periods are charged to succeeding period.

11 Fouls (3-1-3-g) Normal penalty enforcement.
Special penalty enforcement (3-1-3-g). Fouls before change of team possession. Fouls after change of team possession.

12 Fouls After a Change of Team Possession (3-1-3-g)
Penalties against either team are declined by rule. Exceptions (enforced on succeeding play): Flagrant personal fouls, Unsportsmanlike conduct fouls, Dead-ball personal fouls and, Live-ball fouls treated as dead-ball fouls. Score by team committing a foul is canceled. If both teams foul during the down and Team B has not fouled before the change of possession, the fouls offset and the down is not repeated.

13 Either the game is over or the next period will begin 1st & 10
A.R XIII During second possession series of a period. X B79 clips. B25 B25 intercepts and scores. Q RULING: No touchdown. Either the game is over or the next period will begin 1st & 10 at the 25. The penalty does not carry over. G

14 Either the game is over or the next
During second possession series of a period. X B79 slugs an opponent. B25 B25 intercepts and scores. Q RULING: No touchdown. Either the game is over or the next series will begin 1st & 10 at the 12½ or the 40. The penalty for a flagrant personal foul carries over. G

15 Team B’s score is canceled and Team B begins its series 1st & 10
A.R XIV During first possession series. X B37 makes an obscene gesture to an opponent. B37 B37 intercepts and scores. Q RULING: No touchdown. Team B’s score is canceled and Team B begins its series 1st & 10 on the 40. The penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct carries over. G

16 RULING: The fouls offset and the down is not repeated.
A.R XII During the first possession series. X B2 clips. B1 B1 intercepts Q RULING: The fouls offset and the down is not repeated. Team A’s series is over. Team B begins its series at the 25. A1 illegal shift. G

17 RULING: The fouls offset and the down is repeated.
During an extra period. X A1 facemask. B1 B1 intercepts Q RULING: The fouls offset and the down is repeated. Team B fouled before the change of possession. B1 is offside.. G
