Improving Performance in Practice, the Tobacco Control Collaborating Centre and babyClear Very brief advice (VBA) training for Midwives, MSWs, Obstetricians, Health Visitors, Family Nurses and GP’s Tuesday 21st May2019 – Princess Royal Hospital, Telford Aim: To enable participants to early and throughout pregnancy, raise their concern and refer using an opt out pathway. Objectives: This session will provide participants with: An understanding of the impact on fetal and child health of smoking in pregnancy. A knowledge of the prevalence of smoking in pregnancy and the ambitions to reduce that prevalence. The evidence of what works An overview of the support available to pregnant smokers. The knowledge and confidence to undertake carbon monoxide screening for all pregnant women and to refer all smokers using an ‘opt out’ system. Training will take place at Princess Royal Hospital, Telford on the 21st May There will be 2 x 2hr training sessions during the day as follows: Room G in the Education Centre – Walker Suite in Women and Children's Please contact to book a place on one of these training sessions or turn over to obtain the Eventbrite links
