3 Renewal Criteria UMass Lowell renews a variety of academic scholarships to our returning undergraduate students for the upcoming aid year who met the individual academic scholarship renewal criteria (s) set forth These academic scholarships are awarded to students during their first year who demonstrated an exceptional level of achievement measured by outstanding performance in high school and above average scores on college entrance exams

4 Who is Eligible for Renewal
At the end of the spring semester of each academic/aid year, the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships reviews all academic scholarship recipients for renewal eligibility Each individual academic scholarship has its specific criteria requirements, but the following three criteria’s are the primary requirements that need to be met: A pre-determined minimum cumulative Grade Point Average A full-time enrollment status (proration may apply) A maximum of four award years (eight semesters) *Some transfer scholarship are only renewable for 4 semesters Please view the “FY15 UML Merit Scholarship Program Guidelines” spreadsheet on the financial aid shared drive for the specific academic scholarships renewal criteria. 5 Renewal Process For those students who meet the renewal requirements:
The Financial Aid Scholarship personnel will begin to award the renewable academic scholarships for the upcoming aid year in June For those students who fail to meet the renewable criteria requirements: Their academic scholarships are permanently revoked If an academic scholarship is lost, the student is advised to meet with the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships to discuss appeal.
