Sometimes, descriptive adjectives are placed before the noun to show that all members of the group normally have that same characteristic: la blanca nieve : the white snow (snow is normally white) la nieve azul: the blue snow (snow is not normally blue)

3 Some adjectives will change meaning slightly, depending upon where they are placed:
1) Mis padres compraron un carro nuevo. 2) Mis padres compraron un nuevo carro. Both sentences are translated as: My parents bought a new car. However, the first sentence means they bought a brand-new car. The second sentence means they bought a car that was new (different) to them. They were not the first owners of the car.

4 Statements vs Questions:
In Spanish, as in English, when making a statement, the subject normally precedes the verb: Luisa buys a new coat. Luisa compra un abrigo nuevo. In Spanish, as in English, when asking a question, the subject normally follows the verb. Does Luisa buy a new coat? ¿Compra Luisa un abrigo nuevo?
