1. HOW TO FORM A JROTC COMPANY

2. The Beginning
The First SGT. calls “FALL IN” with their best commanding voice so everyone can hear them.
Everyone rushes to their position, and stands at attention. ( MAKE SURE EVERY ONE IS AT ATTENTION BEFORE CONTINUING!!)
To get your company to stand “At Ease” or “Ease” the First Sgt. Will stay at attention and say “STAND AT” then the platoon Sgt. Will also stay at attention and look over their right shoulder and will repeat “STAND AT”
Then the First Sgt. Will say “EASE” (make sure no cadet is talking at any position that isn’t rest).

3. ATTENTION!
To get the company or platoon to go to the position of attention the First Sgt. Or Platoon Sgt. Must come to the position of attention before calling the command.
First Sgt. Will go to the position of attention and say “COMPANY”
Instantly the Platoon Sgt. Will go to attention and look over their right shoulder and say “PLATOON”. After that the Frist Sgt. Will say “ATTENTION”. (At this time the whole company should not be talking and be at attention with feet together, if they are talking tell them they are at attention, if they do not listen, send them to either of the SAI’s).

4. PLATOON LEADER: YELLOW STAFF: PURPLE
TWO 15 INCH STEPS TO THE RIGHT; ONE STEP IN FRONT OF THE FIRST SGT.
FRIST SGT: GREEN
GUIDON: GRAY
PLATOON SGT: BLUE
SQUAD LEADER: ORANGE
PLATOON LEADER: YELLOW
STAFF: PURPLE
12 STEPS FROM, THE FIRST SQUAD LEADER TO THE FIRST SGT. ( 6 STEPS FROM THE PLATOON SGT.)
3 STEPS BEHIND THE PLATOON
2 STEPS BEHIND THE PLATOON LEADER.

5. INSPECTION
Before starting the inspection the company/platoon must be at attention, if they are At Ease, call them to attention.
The First Sgt. Will say to the Platoon Sgt. “Prepare your platoon for inspection.”
Platoon Sgt. Will do an about face and say “Cadets who are not in uniform fallout and make a sperate squad to the side.” then will say “Open ranks - march”.
First squad should take two 30 inch steps
Second squad should take one 30 inch step
Third squad doesn’t move.
Fourth squad (if you have one) should take two 15 inch steps to the rear.

6. INSPECTION CONT. Platoon Sgt. Will say “Dress right- dress”.
They will go to the side of their platoon and check their alignment.
You will march every where, so don’t just “walk” there.
If a cadet is out of line you will say as an example “second cadet, 1 inch to the rear”.
Try to position them to be aligned with their squad leader.
Once when you are done checking the alignment, go back to your stop in front of the Frist Sgt.

7. Next
The First Sgt. Will say “guide me through your platoon” to the Platoon Sgt. After the First Sgt. Inspects the Platoon Sgt.
Once when the First Sgt. And Platoon Sgt. Get to the first squad, the Platoon Sgt. Will say “ second and third squad parade rest” (if you have more than 3 squads you will put all of the squads behind the first squad at parade rest).
To go to one cadet to the next you stand at attention and take a right step as in marching, take a step or 2 to get In front of the next cadet, then make a left face to face the next cadet.
The Platoon Sgt. Will be the right of the Frist Sgt. So they will have to watch out for when the Frist Sgt. Is ready to go to the next cadet.
Once when the First Sgt. Gets to the last cadet in the squad and there is no one in front of the Platoon Sgt, the PS will say “second squad – attention”.
Once the Platoon Sgt. Lets the First Sgt go to the next squad, the Platoon Sgt. Will call the squad now behind them to parade rest.

8. THE END!
After you are done expecting you company, the First Sgt. Will give notes to the Platoon Sgt. About cadets in the platoon such as: “uniforms looked good, but a couple of cadets gig-a-line was off, and _____ needs a hair cut”. Just any comments on the platoon.
The Platoon Sgt. Will “race” the First Sgt. Up to their positions and call the platoon to attention by just saying “PLATOON – ATTENTION”.
Then they will do an about face to face the First Sgt.

9. March to the class room 
The First Sgt. Will tell the Platoon Sgt. “take charge of you platoon” both will solute each other.
Wait until the FS drops their solute first.
Wait for the FS to take 6 steps away with the guidon before continuing.
Platoon Sgt. Will do an about face and say “Close Ranks – March”. Everyone will return to their starting positions.
Platoon Sgt. Will say “ those not in uniform call in” and wait for everyone to fall in.
Then say “RIGHT- FACE”, “FILE FROM THE LEFT – COLUMN LEFT”
Each squad leader will repeat “ Stand fast” unless you are the next squad to go, they will say “Column left”
