1 Three Great Promises by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1.4 Three Great Promises 2 Pet. 1:4 Introduction: A. Because of sin, this world can be uncertain and scary at times. B. We need to be reminded often of: 1. Many great promises of God. 2. Faithfulness of Him who has promised. (Cf. Heb. 10:23; 11:11). C. We need to be reminded often of three great promises that have sustained Christians for centuries: Discussion:

2 Three Great Promises “Their sins and iniquities I will remember no more” Hebrews 10.17 I. “Their Sins and Iniquities I Will Remember No More.” (Heb. 10:17) A. No longer separated from God (Cf. Isa. 59:1) Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. B. No longer subject to the wages of Sin. (Cf. Rom. 6:23). C. No longer burdened with the guilt of sin Rev. 1:5 “…washed us from our sins in His own blood” Matt. 26:28 “…shed for many for the forgiveness of sins” D. A conditional promise (Acts 2:38; 22:16; 1 John 1:7-2:1)

Three Great Promises “I will give you a crown of life.” Revelation 2.10 III.“I Will Give Thee a Crown of Life.” (Rev 2:10). A. An incorruptible crown. 1 Cor. 9:25 “And anyone who competes…but we for an imperishable crown…” 1 Pet 5:4 “when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.” B. Eternal life in heaven 1 Pet. 1:4-5: “to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. C. A conditional promise: 1. Faithfulness unto death – finishing the course 2 Tim. 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2.
