August 2018 – contract for 4 b5 (UCL gap analysis) signed
October 2018 – contract for the other strands signed

4. NatSIP within the Whole School SEND contract Strand 3: Identify and respond to any gaps in the training and resources available to schools
(3a2) Review SI MQs in consultation with the Community of Practice (NATSIP):
Review officially started 3rd October 2018 at NatSIP/HoSS
Survey received responses (higher than gap analysis)
Meetings with providers, stakeholders, regional groups, HI/ MSI/VI specialist groups, etc

5. NatSIP within the Whole School SEND contract Strand 4: Identify and respond to any gaps in the training and resources available to schools
4 b1) Sensory Learning Hub, NatSIP On-line learning platform, online CPD resource and the What Works database and related training courses and programmes
Sensory Learning Hub (SLH) online platform and related training courses and programmes: identify sustainable and accessible solutions, within 6mths, while keeping the resources in place, promoting them and achieving current levels of usage……….
explore sustainability (in terms of willingness to pay and usefulness of content within schools, services and the educational context) by delivering 3 products to 30 settings

6. NatSIP within the Whole School SEND contract Strand 4: Identify and respond to any gaps in the training and resources available to schools
4 b2) 1) Continued development of an Online CPD Platform and training log linked to NatSIP resources and training programmes to ensure an integrated approach to CPD within SI sector and to be able to identify future training needs. 2) To develop and report on delivering a sustainable online CPD and training platform within the six month deadline. Report provided on delivering a sustainable online CPD and training platform and evaluation of current operation of pilots and implementation by 31 December 2018.

4 b3) 1) Costed model of Getting Started Pack for SI developed and trialled in 50 schools 2) Costed model of SENCO support module developed and trialled with 50 SENCOs 4 b4) To develop and maintain the SI Find an Advisor Database so that it is sustainable by 31 March 2019

“NatSIP has gone to very considerable extra work and expense to fulfil requirements which were not needed but requested by UCL. We felt we had already exceeded the original brief which was only to collate materials but did so in good faith and the interests of the SI sector and DfE to ensure a quality process and analysis. This will be crucial for SI within the wider SEND sector and for DfE in the MQ review work.” (Q 3 report to WSS)
