1 Behaviors That College Professors Expect of You

2 Setting It Up Divide your paper into 4 quadrants and label as follows:
Intellect Behavior Self-Advocacy Technology

3 Directions: You will get a slip of paper that lists one of the expectations. Decide where that expectation belongs in the four quadrants. Is it related to Intellect? Behavior? Self-advocacy? Technology?

4 Give 1, Get 1 Move around the room and share the information from your slip with your classmates. Listen! Then write down 10 of the expectations that you hear. (Paraphrase). Once you have 10 things listed, take your seat.

5 Categorize and Share Now we’ll generate a complete list of the 31 expectations Make sure you’ve categorized them into the four quadrants correctly.

12 Set your goals Highlight 9-10 goals that you will set for yourself this year. Keep this paper in your class folder so you can refer back to it as the year progresses.

13 What can we do? Practice the value of coming to class with questions about the assigned reading. Learn the value of meeting deadlines. Understand the value of going to faculty office hours to discuss assignments (in our case, meeting with your teacher and attending Homework Central).

14 I WILL HELP YOU to: 4. Actively take notes in class as a means to facilitate both retention and discovery. 5. Develop the value of listening to and respecting others’ points of view in order to engage in critical debate. 6. Embrace the value of exercising civility and eschewing rudeness.
