The following events (in no particular order) are events that led to the Texas Revolution Arrest of Stephen F. Austin Turtle Bayou Resolutions Law of April 6, 1830 Mier y Teran Report Fredonian Rebellion

3 Arrest of Stephen F. Austin
In 1833, Stephen F. Austin was arrested under suspension for encouraging rebellion in Texas When released in 1834, he would lead the Texan rebels to a victory over Mexico

4 Turtle Bayou Resolutions
In June 1832, a group of Anglo-American soldiers staged a rebellion against Mexican rule in the town of Anahuac, located near Galveston, TX

5 Law of April 6, 1830 This was initiated by Lucas Alaman de Escalada
This was designed to stop the flood of immigration from the United States to Mexico

6 Mier y Teran Report After the Fredonian Rebellion Mier y Teran was sent by the Mexican government to see what was happening in the newly formed Mexican colonies He was concerned over the high amount of Anglo colonists in the area

7 Fredonian Rebellion This was the first attempt by Anglo settlers in Texas to secede from Mexico The settlers, led by Empresario Haden Edwards, declared independence from Mexican Texas and created the Rebublic of Fredonia near Nacogdoches
