How do I get to HOMEROOM? How do I log into HOMEROOM? Username is your Skyward username Password is only known to you Passwords are NOT synced with Skyward. If you do not remember your password, click reset password. Impersonate: Identify several teachers/administrators to impersonate in. your district to use during the training.

3 What is HOMEROOM? A customized student data portal that combines information from numerous sources and presents it in a clear, consistent format. Nightly loaded (automatic): Student Demographic and other data From Skyward: Attendance, Discipline, Posted Grades, Gradebook Grades, Services Enrollments, Activities. Periodically loaded (user initiated): State Assessments District Assessments User input Assessments

4 Homeroom - Basics: Selecting a Dashboard
Homeroom Enhanced attempts to associate a default dashboard based on user roles and students assigned. Dashboards display data relevant to the name of the dashboard. Students seen on a dashboard are determined by a user’s permissions Ex: HS Principal Dashboard will display to a HS Principal relevant data for HS. If an Elementary Principal uses the HS Principal Dashboard, it may not provide any information.

5 Homeroom - Basics: Selecting a Dashboard
To see a list of available dashboards, change your default dashboard or set others as favorites, expand My Dashboards and click All Dashboards.

6 Homeroom - Basics: Change or set a Student Group
To view students on a Dashboard, assign a student group by clicking Configure from the All Dashboard screen In the list displayed, click the + next to the group. This automatically assigns the group.

7 Homeroom - Basics: Viewing a Dashboard
Default will display when Home is clicked and any time after logging in. Favorites now display on the left side under My Dashboards Click the Dashboard name on the left navigation panel OR the Dashboard name in the list of All Dashboards to view the Dashboard

8 Homeroom - Basics: Navigation tips
TIP: click the gear icon to jump to a data container on the dashboard TIP: swap out the student group on a Dashboard by clicking Change and then Pick new Default Group.

9 Homeroom - Assessments
Each Dashboard provides a variety of data containers, one of them should be Assessments. 10 Homeroom - Assessments: Exercise # 1 Downloading
Find a tab that has an assessment with claims/strands Click the gear/wheel icon and choose a download option. All downloads can be accessed via an or from the Notifications area. Download Data Table - provides a spreadsheet Download as Report - provides a PDF Direct user to locate Assessment container on screen

On the same tab, click the gear/wheel icon again Click the magnifying glass at the front of a listing, it displays that selection Click a split square icon at the end of a listing, it splits the container in half and displays the selection. 1 2 1 Direct user to locate Assessment container on screen 2 1 2

Find a tab that has ONE ASSESSMENT displayed Click the gear/wheel icon next to a student name, click Launch Student Assessments Direct user to locate Assessment container on screen

Click Launch View + Select the Assessment Set Scores, or any of the top 4 options Follow the numbered steps on the screen, click Launch View Direct user to locate Assessment container on screen

14 Homeroom - Risk Viewer Each Dashboard provides a variety of data containers, one of them should be Risk Viewer*. This will be pre-populated with a few tabs for different views * Risk data is customizable for the district. Data displays as a single Indicator or a group of as an Index, each made up of data points with data thresholds to identify level of concern/risk for each. Click Launch View + Follow the numbered steps on the screen, click View Risk Direct user to locate Risk container on screen

16 Homeroom - Risk Viewer: Exercise # 2 Summary View
Click the gear/wheel icon and select Risk Summary View Direct user to locate Risk container on screen

17 Homeroom – Profile Lookup: Exercise # 1
2 Each user has a Profile Lookup container at the top of their dashboard Using the Search Text box, enter a student name From the pop-up list, select select the student and you will be directed to a Student Spotlight with individual student data. 3 Generic tool for the whole container Dropdown to access the other tabs Specific tools for tab currently viewing downloading related views split screen view Direct user to locate Profile Lookup container on their screen TIP: click the gear icon inside the container to get a variety of download options and way to split or change the view
