1 Superheroes of the word
Co-laborers With God

2 Someone Even More Powerful…
Every day I wake up knowing that no matter how many lives I protect, no matter how many people call me a hero, someone even more powerful could change everything.” --Spiderman

3 Our God Who Changed Everything
God’s word is power. It is the beauty of the Gospel message which saves. We are heroes only as we spread that life saving message. We serve God by spreading the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

4 1 Corinthians 3:9 “For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.” How wonderful to be fellow workers with God! How marvelous to be His field, His building!

5 God The Hero Of Us All The heart of the gospel is what God did to save us from ourselves. For the next two weeks we will discuss the heart of the gospel message. What has God done so that we have hope of eternal life?

6 God Became Flesh to relate to me
This is called the INCARNATION John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

7 Why Did God Become Flesh?
Hebrews 2: Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

8 To Illustrate Sinlessness
James 1:13 --Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. God cannot be tempted. Man can. God as man was tempted, but did not fall to temptation.

9 To Adopt wayward children
Hebrews 2: For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings. For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying, “I will proclaim Your name to My brethren, In the midst of the congregation I will sing Your praise.” And again, “I will put My trust in Him.” And again, “Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.” Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil….

10 God Died On A Cross To Redeem Me
Called the CRUCIFIXION Hebrews 2:9 -- But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

11 1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit….

12 1 John 2:2 …and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. My death is meaningless because of sin. His death is precious!

13 He Redeemed Us He purchased us from Satan and death by His own blood.
John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. Providing the only way to God.

14 John 8:24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” Romans 5:9 --Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. Ephesians 1:7 – “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.”

15 God Went Into the Grave To Defeat Death
Known as the BURIAL Is there proof that God Incarnate (Jesus) really died? Evidence from a Roman centurion Mark 15:39,45 Saw the way Jesus breathed His last and proclaimed him divine Assured Caesar that Jesus was dead

16 Evidence From Brutal Soldiers
John 19: So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him; but coming to Jesus, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

17 Proof From A secretive Friend
Matthew 27:58-61 – [Joseph of Arimathea] went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb….

18 To fulfill Prophecy Matthew 12:39-40
Evil adulterous generation seeks for signs. Only sign of Jonah to be given. Three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

19 Preview for Next Week John 11:25 – Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies….”
