2  Site layout plans are prepared by contractors as part of their mobilization activities before work on site commences  it involving the co-ordination and movement of large quantities of materials as well as high-value products, plant and people. WHAT IS SITE LAYOUT?

4 STANDARD SITE LAYOUT-: Standard site layout means site layout arranging in a such a way that execution of construction work efficient and easy Standard site layout might include location for and size of -: 1.Zones for particular activity 2.Site office 3.Welfare facilities for labour / labour quarters 4.Off loading, storage areas,temporary storage area 5.Security cabin 6.Car parking 7.Equipment storage area 8.Waste management and recycling areas 9.Margine provided,site boundries,existing road width 10. scaffold storage

8  Zoning of site – In standard layout there are three zones -: 1) Central zone – central zone consisting equipment,tower crane, lifting equipment 2) outer zone-: workshop,deposite, storage area 3) Inner zone – loading and unloading areas,active stores etc In actual layout - there is also three zones but there is improper arrangement of elements in zone arrangement of zones in layout 1)central zone – it consisting lifting equipment tower crane 2) outer zone – storage of sand,bricks and aggrigates 3) inner zone - storage of steel bars, fabrication facilities

9  Welfare facilities for labour In standard layout – There is special provison for labour welfare facilities i.e labour quarters, drinking water, at costruction site Standard size required 4 m. x 4.5 m for labour qarters In labour quorters There should be having good ventilation In actual layout - there should be provision of labour quarter but not having standard diamensions The size of labour quarters is 3m x 3m There is no sufficient ventilation provided in labour qaurters

11  SITE OFFICE – IN STANDARD LAYOUT – genral requirement diamension of site office is 2.5 m. x 2.5 m. Site office located near to entrance point. It should have sufficient working space available In large project there should be seprate office provided for site supervisor or contacter and enginners In actual layout – In actual we visited the site there is provision of site office

12  OFF LOADING & STORAGE AREAS – In standard layout – there should sufficient space provided for the loading unloading and storage area are provided sand, steel,agrigates, bricks standard spaces for storage - for storage of sand space provided – 40 m^2 area for storage of cement space provided – 4m x 4m for storage of steels, scaffolding units space provided – 35 -45 m^2 area IN actual site – there should be no proper arrangement of spaces provided for storage for sand and agrigate 3.5m x 9 m area provided for storage of cement 3 m x3m area provided for brick storage -2.5 x5.6 m area provided

14  SECURITY CABIN – In standard site layout - there should be special provision of cabin for site security perpose standard diamensions of security cabin is 2 m x 2m security cabin should be located at entrance point of site having proper working space available In actual site – there should be no provision of security cabin because of overhead charges of security guard affects the economy

15  EQUIPMENT STORAGE AREA- In standard site layout - there is provision for equipment storage room having sufficent working spaces available for repair or maintance of equipment various equipment required for construction work like concrete agitatator drum,drilling maching, steel cutting machine, vibratores,elevator etc In actual layout- the machinery required for execution project stored in storage room having 4m x 3m area there is few machines avcailables in this site because the contracter hire the machinery when it required for execution of project

17  SCAFFOLD STORAGE – In standard site layout there are special area provided for storage of scaffold min. storage of scaffold area about 35- 40 m^2 In actual layout there is proper storage of timber or scaffold. There is no errection of shade or shelter for storage of scaffolding

18  MARGINS – In standard site layout- the margine provided according to building bye-lows for road side margine In actual layout – there is 4m margine provided at front side

19 Standard layout- In actal layout – there is 10 m marigen (incluiding parking) provided at left side and 12 m margin provided both right and rear side
