PLACES: Derbe and Lystra: Phrygia: Galatia: Mysia: Troas: Bithynia: Samothrace: Neapolis: Philippi: Derbe and Lystra – cities in southern Galatia to which Paul and Silas went to strengthen the existing churches. They picked up Timothy at Lystra (probably). Phrygia – an area in central Asia Minor through which the company traveled. Antioch of Pisidia is in Phrygia. Galatia – a province in central Asia Minor through which the company traveled. Derbe, Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch of Pisidia are all, technically, in Galatia. Troas – the city to which the preachers journeyed after being forbidden to preach in Asia or Bithynia. Here Luke joins them and Paul receives the vision requesting they go to Macedonia. Bithynia – a province in north eastern Asia Minor; the preachers were forbidden to preach here at this time. Samothrace – a small island north west of Troas where the company stayed overnight on their way to Macedonia. Neapolis – the city on the coast of Macedonia where the company landed after leaving Troas.
