5 Characters Traits and Plots Writing Patterns
All characters have a mental disorder. For example Percy has dyslexia, affecting his ability to read and write english alphabet. But he can use it to decipher Greek codes, helping him along his adventures. Rick Riordan’s characters all have some sort of awakening or finding and accepting their destiny. Like Jason found out he was a Son of Jupiter, when he gravitated the bus. Saving his friends. Most of Rick Riordan’s books features many sarcastic moments. For example when Jason mocked his own prophecy. It gives the readers a taste of the characters personalities and a more realistic feel. lso there's a lot of things having to do with accepting yourself.

6 What I liked and what I didn’t like
The different stories and personalities the characters had. The books were all connected with each other somehow. The description of certain scenes and certain parts. How the format was in each book. The repetitive themes. That each character had to go through a lot of pain to become their true selves. Not really a lot because i like most of his books.

7 Would I recommend this author?
Yes! Out of all the books i’ve read of his, they all lived up to my expectations of a good book. All really detailed and well written, but some parts may be a little graphic. I also really like how he describes each individual scene. I would recommend to middle schoolers, the themes all have something i think some middle schoolers can relate to. Also because it would be hard for younger kids to understand.

8 Themes A very common theme is “believe in yourself and you can conquer anything.” For example when Carter didn't believe he could crack the code to open the pyramid, he took time to channel his inner self and solved it. Another theme is “learn to trust others.” because Jason didn't trust Grover to help him with his mission. But slowly opened up to Grover,, becoming close friends and helping each other with missions.
