Submitted to the UN Statistical Commission for adoption as a statistical standard SEEA Experimental Ecosystem Account Being developed on the basis of an agreed list of issues. Draft text to be discussed by UNCEEA in June. Global consultation in autumn and final draft for endorsement by UNSC in 2013. SEEA Extension and Applications List of topics and contributors have been identified. Draft text to be discussed in June. Implementation of the SEEA Develop an implementation strategy including a minimum set of tables and accounts and incremental approach to implementation

New draft consistent with the SEEA and coherent with IRES has been circulated to a small group of experts Global consultation to start in April 2012 UNCEEA to approve the SEEA-Energy

IRWS was adopted as international recommendation in 2010 Spearhead the implementation of the SEEA-Water and development of basic water statistics in countries Inter-regional adviser and implementation programme in water

Several workshops have been conducted for the implementation of SEEA-Water and IRWS. Workshops are usually attended by 4 or 5 countries from the region. Region 2011 Workshops 2012 Workshops Other activities ECLAC Colombia, Ecuador, Panama Country to be defined Translation of glossy and other materials. Information on website. Focus countries: Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Mexico. ECA South Africa Morocco Focus countries: Botswana, Mauritius, Morocco, South Africa. ESCWA Lebanon Focus country: Egypt, Jordan, Palestine. Compilation guidelines will be developed by the UNSD in 2012 and 2013. Successful implementation requires continuous communication with countries and key partners. Sharing examples, publications, and success stories among countries is very useful. 5 5
