Johannes Gutenberg invented the first Printing Press in Europe. ** (must know his name) Used moveable type to print pages (arrange letters and press on paper) Very efficient method to print books! Results of Printing Press: Thousands of books and articles printed! More people learned to read! (literacy rate went up!) Humanist ideas spread more quickly! Education, logic, and reason became more popular and encouraged! Power of the king and pope threatened as people spread their own ideas and challenge their views
