Instagram: mrshoward_concrete A Peek At Our Week A note from the teacher… Math: We will continue to focus place value. Our focus this week will be on expanded forms of numbers. (ex. 58 is the same as 50+8) Writing: This week we will begin learning about personal narratives. We will learn about what a narrative is and begin writing a narrative about our own life. Reading: This week we will begin to learn all about decoding strategies. These are great tools to use while reading with your child as well. We will learn about Eagle Eye, Lips the Fish, Chunky Monkey, Stretchy Snake, and Skippy Frog this week. Science: We will continue our “What is Science?” unit. Field trip permission forms and money are past due. Please send them in ASAP if you have not already. Literacy Night is October 9th from 5:45-7pm. Remember this is NOT a drop-in. I hope everyone will be able to join in on the fun. We will start our St. Jude fundraiser today! For every $1 your child sends in his/her name will be added to our Class Spirit Chain outside our door, and the money will go directly to St. Jude. As you may know, Concrete has had several students who directly benefited from the services provided by St. Jude. Thank you in advance for your support and donations. Try out Tumblebooks at home. This is a great resource to read book at home. I sent the link through Bloomz last week or you can also go to scdiscus.org and go to Tumblebooks. The user name is Concrete and the password is Books. Congratulations Austin and Tripp for having a positive attitude this month. I hope you enjoy the cookie party with Mrs. Jones and Oliver.
