5. Sub-Activity 1.1 - Explore Main NG Supply, Storage, Trade and Distribution
DEFA has announced a tender for Legal, Commercial and Financial Services on 02/10/2017. The contract is envisaged to be awarded in December 2017
DEFA is working on finalising the Natural Gas Quantities and basic Contract Terms to be included in supply tender which will be announced by Q1 2018
Exploration of potential LNG sources for supplying the LNG Storage facility, as well as other relevant aspects related to the actual acquisition and operation of the LNG storage facility will be finalised once the Legal, Commercial and Financial Consultants are in place 5

6. Sub-Activity 1.2 - Explore Complementary Patterns in NG Supply, Storage, Trade, and Distribution
DEFA has initiated work on the above sub-activity as part of the preparation of the CEF Energy Proposal under the Cross Border Cost Allocation (CBCA) between DEFA and DEPA, using CYnergy Consortium resources together with additional consultancy services resourced by DEFA
DEFA and DEPA agreed on a general approach on a common strategy in NG supply and distribution. Possible future further benefits accruing in storage, transportation and distribution parts of the value chain
The outcome, findings and insights will be taken into consideration and incorporated into the tender for LNG supply 6

7. Sub-Activity 1.3 - Secondary LNG INTRAMED Trade Market (Spot)
Once the quantities have been finalised, DEFA will investigate the possibility of taking advantage of the currently under development LNG trade market
DEFA will examine the optimisation of the Cypriot NG supply system through a secondary LNG trade market and a concept design for an LNG carrier to serve the regional particularities and synergies with LNG import/export infrastructures
Considering sub-activity 1.2 outcome, DEPA & DEFA will be able to minimise the potential risk of witnessing surpluses or shortages in the LNG infrastructure
Preparative actions for the introduction of a regional LNG INTRAMED spot price index will follow in due course. 7

8. Sub-Activity 1.4 - Complementary CNG Waterborne Supply Chain (Spot)
Once the total Natural Gas Demand picture has been finalised, the investigation of the potential of new technologies like CNG to be included in system can be initiated
The optimal concept design for a CNG carrier and the estimation of any positive impact of CNG in gas prices can be further analysed in the future 8
