2. What is the initiative about?
Aligned vision of IOSH London Metropolitan Branch and the Universities
Lead and develop our profession
Meet the needs of practitioners
Promote collaboration and multidisciplinary engagement to develop future OHS practice through research
Address challenges of IOSH Branch members and provide for employability of student practitioners
Start with a pilot research programme in October with MSc student researchers

3. What involvement is needed?
Collaboration to help define the research agenda relevant to you
Specific Industry Issues
Broader Policy Issues
In-house or specific challenges on the profession
Workshop to be held on September 18th to define, consult upon and draft the agenda
Engagement Opportunities in the research programme- examples:
Student access to workplaces to carry out research
Sharing datasets for use in research
Provision of industry specific information

4. What will be the benefits and outcomes?
Tailored work to address OHS challenges which concern you and your industry
Academically supported by researchers and practitioners
Cost effective
Building an evidence base from research based on our collective needs to inform future policy
Enhanced student employability skills from industry facing projects
Branch knowledge transfer based on results
