2 Muscular System ·Provides movement of power.
·Includes striated muscle, smooth muscle, and cardiac muscle.

3 Urinary System ·Rids the body of wastes to avoid toxicity.
< ·Rids the body of wastes to avoid toxicity. ·Includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra.

4 Respiratory System ·Provides the air necessary for you to perform your daily activities and eliminates the waste gases from the air that you breath. ·Includes the nose, sinuses, pharynx, larynx, epiglottis, trachea, bronchi, and lungs

5 Digestive System ·Changes food both mechanically and chemically into energy sources and compounds necessary for survival. ·Includes the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, intestines, and accessory organs. <

6 Endocrine System ·Releases hormones into the bloodstream to help regulate body functions. ·Includes the adrenals, gonads, pancreas, parathyroids, pineal, pituitary, thymus, and thyroid. <

7 Reproductive System ·Consists of those organs that participate in perpetuating the species. ·Includes the testes, ducts, and penis in males; and ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina, and external genitalia in females.

8 Skeletal System ·Provides us with a rigid, supportive framework that gives shape to our bodies. ·Includes 206 bones (such as those listed in the diagram).

9 Integumentary System ·Protects, insulates, and cushions deeper organs and protects the body from mechanical, chemical, and thermal damage. ·Includes skin, hair, nails, sweat, and sebaceous glands.

10 Immune & Lymphatic System
< ·Filtering mechanism for microorganisms and serves as a protective device against foreign invaders / defense against major enemies of the body. ·Includes white blood cells, lymph fluid, lymph vessels and nodes, and the spleen.

11 Nervous System ·Organizes and coordinates the millions of impulses received each day to make communication with our environment possible. ·Includes the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), the peripheral nervous systems (nerves), and special sense organs (eyes, ears, etc).

12 Circulatory System ·Carries oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and other substances to and from the tissue cells where exchanges are made. ·Includes the heart, blood vessels, and blood.
