The Tour starts somewhere different each year – last year it even started in London- but it always includes difficult stages in the mountains – the Alps and the Pyrenees – point these out- and it always finishes in Paris. This is the 95th year the race has been run.

le maillot jaune is worn by the fastest rider. Sometimes, even after 2000 miles and three weeks, there are only seconds separating the first and second riders. le maillot vert belongs to the rider who has scored most points in different sections of the stages. The polka dot jersey goes to the best rider in the mountain stages, and the white jersey is awarded to the best rider under the age of 25.

If the puncture card is drawn, no-one moves forward
If the card has a +, that cyclist moves forward 2 “etapes”
The first cyclist to cross into “L’Arrivee” is the winner
