SQUADS #4 CPW “11th Grade Science”
Learning Intentions - Today, I am going to address these College Readiness Standards in Science: Interpretation of Data 20-23 Interpretation of Data 24-27 Evaluation of Models, Inferences, and Experimental Results 20-23 Scientific Investigation 24-27 SQUADS #4 Success Criteria – I know I am successful when I can select data from a complex graph, compare data from a complex data presentation, identify key assumptions in a graph, translate information into a table from a graph, predict results of an additional measurement in an experiment, understand the methods and tools used in an experiment, and identify a mathematical relationship between data.

Quick Note! Today’s questions are based on the printed passage you will receive shortly. After reading your passage individually or as a group, choose the best answer to each question. You may refer to the passages as often as necessary. You have 2 Minutes to read your passage!

11th Grade Science #1. Which of the objects represented on Graph I is moving at a constant velocity in the positive direction? A B C D

11th Grade Science #2. Which of the objects represented on Graph I could also be represented by Graph II? A B C D

11th Grade Science #3. Which of the following accurately describes the motion of the object in Graph III? The object is moving in the positive direction, slowing down. The object is moving in the negative direction, speeding up. The object is moving in the positive direction, speeding up. The object is moving in the negative direction, slowing down.

11th Grade Science #4. The data listed in Data Table I could be used to construct which graph? Graph I Graph II Graph III Graph IV

11th Grade Science #5. If objects A, B, C, and D represented in Graph IV were in a race, which would come in 3rd place? A B C D

11th Grade Science #6. Before conducting this experiment, what would be the most important thing to check to ensure accurate results? The diameter of the objects used The table where you will record the data The weight of the objects used The motion detector

11th Grade Science #7. According to Data Table I, what was the difference in velocity between minutes 3 and 4? -0.03 m/s -0.06 m/s 0.06 m/s -0.07 m/s
