EVENTS: The Department’s activities are as follows: On 25/07/2015 Inauguration of “Accountancy Association” and organised an “One Day Camp” on the theme “ Know Your Income-Tax Obligations” for the salaries Assessees of nearby societies and poster competition on the same theme was organised for the students of VES College. In the month of January 2016 the department invited an eminent personality CA. Vivek Patil. to deliver a “Talk on Technical Analysis”. This programme attended by housefull audience (students, teachers and administrative staff members) who learned an insight of Technical Analysis and its use in wealth creation by investing in Shares. In the month of February 2016 Guest Lecture by an Altruistic Prof. Milind Dalvi.was organized for T.Y. B.Com Students on the topic “Financial Statement Analysis using ratios”. The speaker discussed practical use of ratios with the help of various case studies. All the participants expressed that it was very useful for them in their future career. The Lecture was pellucid and laconic. Keeping in view the further career development of our students, the department thought of imparting coaching in different subjects of Common Proficiency Test Conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for entering in Chartered Accountancy Course. For this purpose “VES-CPT Study Circle” has been formed and senior teachers and students who have passed CPT Examination were invited and they gave guidance on various topics. For bringing grasp about country’s finance budget among the students, the department organised live telecast of Finance Minister’s speech on Union Budget at Lok Sabha. Industrial Visit: for bestowing practical use of the subject comprehension, industrial visit to Bhiwandi was organised to show the functioning of power-loom. industries. For developing employable skills and to bridge the gap in between academics and industry needs the department provided short term certificate course in “Tally ERP9”. RESULT ANALYSIS: Result summary of T.Y. B.com Semester V for A.Y No economy will stand well economically, if accounts are not well kept and acted upon. Accounting is one of the primary vehicles of record keeping. Data are congregated from their various sources, collated, organized, analyzed, interpreted and communicated to the end users for an informed economic decision making that will in the long run succumb positive fruits. Countries are able to plan their economic activities are as a result of the valuable information gathered through all forms of accounting. Government make use of accounting records of companies’ to frame fiscal and monetary policies. Future Plans: To continue with proven practice of monitoring attendance of students on regular basis. Qualitative improvement in the overall results. To strengthen research culture. To encourage students to prepare and appear for professional courses like CS, CA, ICWAI, & MBA. To arrange for Add-on (Vocational) Courses in the area of: Computerised Accounting and e-filling of – TDS returns Service Tax Returns VAT Returns & ROC Returns Income Tax Returns VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT: To Improve Performance at the University/College Examination To Enhance Professional /Employable Skill To Promote Higher Studies for Career Progression Grade FIN A/C COST A/C MANG.
