A-16 Miss Hannigan, Ms. Guagliardo & Mrs. Gaskill’s Weekly Newsletter Week of 3/4/19 Lessons of the Week: Pattern Block Critters: Students used different shapes to create a pattern caterpillar! Fishing for Numbers: Students looked for “Number Fish.” They looked for numbers 1-10 and put them in a row! Self Portrait: Students used a mirror to look at themselves and draw a self portrait. Skills Addressed: Patterns Shapes Number Recognition Counting Fine Motor Skills Tip of the Week: Please read to your child at home as much as possible! We are working on letter recognition and reading is a great way to improve this skill! Classroom Needs: Thank you for all of the donations for our Movie Basket! We really appreciate it! Special Information: Our Basket Auction is March 22nd! Tickets are still available! Parent Links: Math for preschoolers is much more than rote counting.  It includes many concepts, including understanding and comparing quantities, exploring shapes and spatial relationships, comparing sizes, measuring, creating patterns, and interpreting data.
