University Learning Outcomes are difficult to apply to tangible student affairs impacts
Re-prioritization of work schedules to afford time for development, analysis, and implementation

3. Priority 2
Healthy Campus Initiative – We will focus on the continued application of our role in promoting health across the entire University and strengthening our impact across Divisions in supporting student success
Challenges:
Consistent messaging of Health as something
to which we all contribute
Engaging faculty and working with academic departments to on-board folks
Prioritization of activities
Funding of initiatives

4. Priority 3
Staff Development – As our staff has grown and diversified it is becoming apparent that we need to create new tools for people to use to understand the complex working styles of both professional and student staff
Challenges:
Implementing a comprehensive program for a
such a wide variety of leadership styles
Time to train the trainers of a program
Identifying top impactful priorities
Technology support for innovative learning
methods
Creating a culture that values the time spent

5. Priority 4
Expansion – Sooner than expected we are feeling the impact of the significant reductions made during the Student Rec Center construction (25% smaller than designed); we will develop a plan and capacity to begin the process to reclaim that space as we look towards nearly 6,000 additional students living on campus within eight years.

Intentionally working with SMSU 2020 team to support and strategize
