PowerPoint Product Texting and Driving

2 Texting and Driving is against the law

3 Some reasons why you should NOT text and drive.
It is against the law You could be putting other people in danger You could be putting yourself in danger You might end up in jail maybe for more than one offence You might have to pay a fee of a lot of money

4 People all over have seen it happen and is now cautious
AT&T encouraged people to support this law and have a sticker on all of their cell phones. You see commercials everyday letting the world know how many lives have been taken because of texting and driving. It has gotten so bad that now every where you look someone is putting the word out.

5 How serious this really is!
A girl gets two years behind bars for killing a man while texting and driving. Research shows 3,092 people are killed in crashes involving a distracted driver. The rate of accidents has increased due to texting and driving. People’s family and friends (that have nothing to with it and its not their fault) are dying everyday and so is the careless driver.

6 Save texting for later; your life is not worth it!

7 More states have got a ban on texting and driving
Once they realized how dangerous it really was; more people started taking it more serious. It is only a few states in the U.S that have not yet got a ban on texting and driving but is working on getting that law passed. Some states only allows an officer to give them a ticket with no jail time. Some states only ban it in school zones. They should be banned every where not just in specific spots. It has gotten better because now bus drivers cant have their cell phone either.

8 A current map of the texting and driving law

9 Don’t have an accident!

10 Why not JUST WAIT! No text message is that important to where you have to risk your life and somebody else’s. It is mostly teens doing this crime because most teens don’t care about the law. Why not just wait until your hands are free but when behind the wheel of a vehicle; all eyes should be on the road.

11 Teens point of view Teens feel like it is not as dangerous as people make it seem. They might feel like they are that skilled to multi task. “Its only at a red light; who am I hurting?” “It might be something important.” “This my bestie/boo/girl/man”.

12 Real Experience A girl was sitting telling me about her experience she had while she was in the car with her aunt and I asked her if I could quote her, she told me; “My aunt was texting and driving the other day, I was scared to death. She almost ran us off the road. I didn’t know if she was paying attention or not, I didn’t know if we would crash. We didn’t but I don’t get in the car with her anymore.”

13 A BIG no no! I can not stress it enough Do NOT text and drive!!!

14 Watch Your Surroundings
Sometimes you may need to watch your surroundings for other careless drivers. You may be doing what you suppose to do but the next person could be in the wrong and not paying any attention to the road. Make sure you have your seat belt on and make sure you are focused.

15 Ways to avoid texting and driving.
Turn your phone off before you get in the car. Put it into the arm rest; out of site, out of mind. Turn on your drive smart app. Pull off the road safely and stop. Put It some place you can not reach it such as the trunk.
