13 Meteorology The scientific study of Earth’s weather (Highlight/Add definition to your Interactive Notebook Index.) What does it mean? Ancient Greeks thought anything that fell from the sky was a meteor, including rain, snow and hail. TG- p.46

14 What does it mean? Today, meteorology includes only the study of weather. Planetary scientists study meteors. TG- P.46

15 Meteorologist A person who studies the causes and effects of Earth’s weather Meteorologists study weather in order to make predictions or forecasts Predictions to let people know what kinds of weather to expect the next day or the next week. TG- P.46-47
